Connect With the Right Audience for Your Business

Hi, I'm L.A.
I'm a Copywriter and an Occupational Therapist (OT). I help brands and businesses connect with their ideal audience through clear, empowering communication that inspires informed, confident action.
Below is a bit about me, my background, and how both shape the way I approach copywriting.
Writing has always been about connection for me.
Connection to myself. Connection to others. A way to
express and explore meaning.
While writing began as something deeply personal, it evolved into a source of empowerment and agency, helping me communicate with clarity and intention in all areas of my life.
Writing also shaped my academic path. I studied history and creative writing, and later co-authored a systematic literature review exploring the therapeutic benefits of journaling
My relationship with writing continued to evolve throughout my OT career, and over time, I knew I wanted to use it to support others more directly.
That clarity led me to pursue formal training in copywriting — writing that connects people with tools, services, and communities that support their goals and lead to clear, confident action.

But before that career shift, I spent over six years in clinical practice as an Occupational Therapist.
While working in hospitals and rehab settings across California, I supported people in navigating complex, often life-altering transitions.
That experience taught me how to handle sensitive information with care. I learned how to create spaces where people felt seen, safe, and capable of moving forward on their terms. Creating those spaces required listening closely and communicating with clarity and respect.
Working across many teams in fast-paced, short-term placements taught me how to adapt quickly, convey critical information clearly, and build trust in unfamiliar environments. Most importantly, I learned how to stay focused on what matters most — the people trusting me with their care.
My work as an OT reinforced how much the environments we create, including how we communicate within them, directly influence what we believe is possible. I bring that same awareness to my work as a copywriter.

One of the many beautiful communities I had the opportunity to live and work in as a Travel OT.
Why empowerment comes first.
The communities where I’ve grown and thrived have all shared a foundation of trust, respect, and integrity. They were spaces where I felt supported enough to take confident, meaningful action.
The ones that lacked those qualities required something different of me. I had to learn how to move forward in spite of confusion, disconnection, or fear. Those experiences taught me how much it matters to feel safe, respected, and supported — and how much is possible when those conditions are in place.
I also come from a family of small business owners, and I grew up watching how businesses thrive when people feel genuinely welcomed, supported, and valued.
Empowerment-first messaging begins with respect. It honors the intelligence and agency of the audience. And it helps build the kind of connection that leads to meaningful engagement and lasting connection.

Finding meaning and connection continue to be central to how I spend my time outside of work.

What brings me joy.
Outside of work, I return to the things that bring additional meaning to my life.
Playing guitar and singing. Dancing. Listening to music. Reading. Meditation.
Spending time with the people I love and creating stories to entertain them (and myself) through images, video, music, and writing.
And walking — a constant in my life, and one of the most meaningful ways I stay connected to myself and my community.
